It's more that he's been out of it for so long
Also this is probably true

Under Ashley's ownership, we're better off with Pardew.

f*** me...people wanting Hoddle or Hughton <laugh>

We all love Hughton, but that would be an abysmal move - as would Hoddle. And regardless of how well derby are doing in the championship, it's not the best league at tho moment. No way would I want McLaren.

Hughton would be a sideways step. He's much more likeable than Pardew, but not a better manager.

If Pardew is to leave I'd rather we promoted Beardsley to coach to team until the end of the season. I wouldn't say we're in danger of going down and it would give us more time to arrange a suitable manager to join in the summer.

Then again I can't see Ashley wanting to invest in a decent manager with him looking to sell in the next within the next 18 months <grim>

Ketsbaia's out of a job and Solano's still looking for his big break in management. I reckon the two could pull off the good cop/bad cop dynamic pretty well.

Mine's down on my phone, but it's OK on my laptop. Nothing else is happening. I think the next day or two while this happens/doesn't happen are going to be the longest in a while...

If we sack Pardew (and these rumours aren't coming from nowhere), then we're in for hefty compensation from Palace. That might let Ashley use whatever compensation we earn to pay a manager a little bit more than we would usually, so I don't think de Boer or Garde or Sherwood are out of reach. I'd be happy with either of those to be honest.

I've got mixed feelings now that it seems he is leaving - I've wanted him out ever since Reading, but I can't help but feel that it hasn't half been an interesting four years.

Sherwood? He's as good tactically as Pardew.
