Burnley 1 - 1 Newcastle Utd - 02/12/14
Re: Burnley vs Newcastle Utd - 02/12/14
Cabella looked a lot better in the central role. Steven Taylor was decent, if he had started, I think we may have won. It's a tough month ahead, but we will get some results from somewhere, Pardew always does. If we come out of December, in the top 12, we would have done well.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew: "Absolutely delighted with that - we didn't play in the first half and Burnley had a lot to do with that. We didn't risk enough. We took risks in the second half and were a different class.
"It's as good a point we've got all season. The pitch was difficult tonight - it was was slippery and slidy."

I'd hate Pardew so much less if he never gave interviews.

Re: Burnley vs Newcastle Utd - 02/12/14
Just got in from the game (live in the North West). Poor game between one poor team and one average team. Tiote and Cabella stood out in so much that they looked like they could play football (why Cabella didn't start against the likes of Burnley I don't know), and Ings was the only player to show any quality for them.
It will be interesting to see what the Abeid/Perez wink* frenzy fan club will have to say about them tonight. I'm in no way saying they should be castigated, because they have undoubted potential, but some on here batter some of our other players for crap performances and Abeid in particular was awful - especially set pieces. If Colback would have been the culprit there would have been complaints about Pardew selecting him/not subbing him etc etc. Perez is raw and he looks lost at times, but he needs looking after if his confidence isn't to be shattered.
Aside from that, the game was s***!

Reminder that Alan Pardew spent over a year with both Steven Taylor and Mike Williamson fit, and gave Williamson the nod for the entire duration.
"Yeah, because when they shout go, go, go, go, take him on, take him on, you know, you, you can fly, you go and you try because it's a joy to play in front of our supporters."

The majority on here aren't paid to make the right call. While it baffled me that so many supported Pardew's choice, it isn't a vindication of the moronRamone wrote:Reminder that the majority of people on here agreed with that decision.Cheik the room wrote:Reminder that Alan Pardew spent over a year with both Steven Taylor and Mike Williamson fit, and gave Williamson the nod for the entire duration.

Williamson was good for most of last year. Well some of it. And by good I mean better than our other centre backs
I dunno

He was incredibly s*** and has been for the vast majority of his career. Should not be starting for a team in the Premier League.Duke wrote:Williamson was good for most of last year. Well some of it. And by good I mean better than our other centre backs

Wouldn't say that about Williamson he was solid against Everton when we were losing 3-0 and was a rock at times.
However he is awful now and Pardew saying CaBella deserves a start against Chelsea, when he does not question Gouffran starting what so ever you know it's a miracle he's in a job

This, he was never anything other than a donkey, people just had a weird love for him for being so s***, like they did with Perch before him.Jaiston wrote:He was incredibly s*** and has been for the vast majority of his career.
