Anyone sure which position Sissoko best at? Plus, Cabella should remain benched till he beefs up. Too small for rough and tough of EPL.
Ashley tells you it's raining. Do you look out the window?

Krul - 7.5 - A couple of excellent saves, kept us in the game. Couldn't do much for either goal. Reminds me of Given in the relegation season.

Janmaat - 4 - Some useful play at both ends, but not up to scratch in this one.
Williamson - 3 - Not quite as hopeless as Colo currently is, mostly thanks to the occasional good header or block. Did nothing to prevent either goal.
Coloccini - 2 - Constantly leaves gaps at the back and did next to nothing of worth, apart from giving them free-kicks. Did nothing to prevent either goal.
Dummett - 4 - Poor for their first, useless upfield. Made a few good tackles though.

Colback - 3 - The new signing energy and excitement is wearing thin, he doesn't offer anything that Tioté doesn't do better (apart from maybe scoring a goal now and then).
Tioté - 8 - Another excellent Tioté performance, bailed us out a couple of times and protected the back four as well as he could.

Obertan - 6.5 - Good assist, should have done better with his chance, some good defending.
Sissoko - 3 - He can't play in the middle, please stop putting him there. His attempt at defending their second was pitiful. Did better in the latter stages when the game was stretched and he could run.
Gouffran - 2 - Was he even on the pitch?

Cissé - 8 - Cissé is back. <awe> No idea how he scored the first, good finish for the second, unlucky not to get a hat-trick. Was feeding off scraps until Sammy came on.

Ameobi - 8 - Exactly what we needed, a direct winger who runs at defenders and creates. Great cross for the goal, and interesting to see him cutting in from the right.
Rivière - 6 - Should have scored, but otherwise did well. Good hold-up play in a system that actually had players around him.
Pérez - N/A

Pardew - 3 - A poor start but redeemed by his subs and Cissé's continued return to form. I don't understand how a manager who supposedly focuses so much on defence can have such a poorly drilled back four; they can't mark, can't defend set pieces, and have no idea what to do when Colo charges at the ball, leaving massive gaps to be exploited like for the first.

To his credit he actually changed system during the game, hopefully he continues to play with actual wingers and two up top in the absence of anyone who can actually link midfield and attack in his supposed 4-2-3-1/4-5-1. Nice to see him starting to drop players, hopefully Gouffran is next and Sammy gets to start. It'll be interesting to see how he handles Cabella now...
