I get the feeling that he could've finished 18th every year with a squad of 23 training cones and people still wouldn't have rated him.Bodacious Benny wrote:...and to think quite a lot of people thought Martinez wouldn't be good enough for us last year as he 'only' kept Wigan in the PL for donkeys years and never progressed them

Re: Alan Pardew out
To be fair, I had my doubts about Martinez, but he's done well this year. We'll have to wait and see how he does in the next couple of seasons before really judging him as a manager. Pardew finished 5th remember and look at him now,

Your boys have lost more games than you've own under Pards, getting an easy ride off the national press though.

Jeez, I hadn't seen that. That team at the top isn't bad. And that promising start seems to have glossed over the cracks in Pardew's season.Jaiston wrote:Since Arsenal game at end of December.

Re: Alan Pardew out
Apparently he's had an argument with Ben Arfa again this weekend. Obviously blaming Hatem again for us getting mauled. Looks a cert he will be getting sold in the summer.

We're f***ed next year if Pardew stays, simple as
Re: Alan Pardew out
It's ridiculous how much Ben Arfa is being used as a scapegoat. Laughable, really, that he is genuinely that pig-headed and arrogant.

Re: Alan Pardew out
There have been two home games (Spurs/Man Utd) that have seen HBA be the centre of a dressing room argument with Pardew, despite only coming on for thirty minutes in both.

Re: Alan Pardew out
Well clearly he should have just scored a hat-trick and stopped us conceding once he came on.
Re: Alan Pardew out
Hate these things but the excuses

And despite having better attacking stats in that 30 minutes than certian players who play the full 90 and achieve nothing.Yacob wrote:There have been two home games (Spurs/Man Utd) that have seen HBA be the centre of a dressing room argument with Pardew, despite only coming on for thirty minutes in both.
Funny how Gouffran is immune to being dropped or criticised. He works hard though... apparently?

Re: Alan Pardew out
Does he s****. He's the first to throw the towel in when the going gets tough. His performance on Saturday was a disgrace, same for last Saturday. The few months previous haven't been much better. I wouldn't be bothered if he never played for us again. A lack of ability is acceptable and understandable with some players but a lack of effort is not acceptable, it doesn't matter who you are.Nick wrote:And despite having better attacking stats in that 30 minutes than certian players who play the full 90 and achieve nothing.Yacob wrote:There have been two home games (Spurs/Man Utd) that have seen HBA be the centre of a dressing room argument with Pardew, despite only coming on for thirty minutes in both.

Dont really see much effort from any of them these days...
Haidara, Santon and Cisse seemed to be the only ones working for a period at the weekend.

Re: Alan Pardew out
Not much effort across the board. I'm feeling in a forgiving mood towards Gouff because he put more than a fair shift in week after week until recently so I'm willing to accept that he has burnt out, it being his first full season of this sort of higher paced football. But the rest ...!
Re: Alan Pardew out
Never been big on the #PardewOut brigade... I always think sacking a manager should be a last resort. So many teams have sacked their manager and it's gone t*** up. The risk is massive. People keep comparing Pardew to Sir Bobby Robson but remember when Bobby was sacked? There was a vocal (albeit small) minority of our fans calling for his head after an especially poor start to the season. Those fans got their way and, ultimately, that led to our decline and subsequent relegation a few seasons late.So I'm normally dubious when it comes to calling for someone's head.
Having said all that, I'm finally sick of the odious cockney w*****. I'm sick of his bizarre tactical decisions. I'm sick of his smug little face when something goes right, how he get's all the credit, but as soon as something goes wrong the responsibility lies elsewhere. I'm sick of losing four nil.... the fact that we can't concede one goal without capitulating entirely. I'm sick of his antics, of his excuses and his voice. But most of all, I'm sick of the fact that under him I feel progressively more apathetic towards the club I've held a season ticket for for almost 3/4s of my life. So much so that I didn't even go to the Man U game.
If the club are planning on a massive overhaul in the summer, they may as well go top to bottom. Right now, for the first time, I'm with you.
