Is Tar Bar'ls an Allendale beer?
No idea, I usually just vaguely point towards the guest ales when I'm ordering and hope it's nice.
I've had some bad experiences doing that. Allendale Wolf in particular was a liquorice/chocolatey flavour and it was vile. I love the American beers though <awe>.

Had a Sweet Action and Bengali Tiger at The Five Swans last night, they weren't bad but they weren't very distinctive.

Anyone been to Datbar in town yet? Great drinks selection there. Although, like most of Newcastle these days, every pint is over £4.

Yeah nothing to write home about but its definitely on my list for the summer ales, as it was full of citrus and quite refreshing

My wife went to the shop yesterday and I asked her to pick me up some beers. When she asked what beers, I told her to get something interesting.

She came back with Holsten <laugh>
