He's a solid English forward, works hard, passes the ball well enough but in the final analysis lacks the skill and finesse of the best players. He misses too many chances and he isn't quick enough to be a number 10 and he isn't tall enough or intelligent enough to be a CF for me.

I do agree he is the best England have got, but then England aren't very good.

I don't think he'll leave. Man U will want something ridiculous upwards of £50m and I can't see anyone paying that much. He's more important to them (or at least they think he is) than he could possibly be for any of the other super rich clubs.

Think you're taking this all a bit too serious mate. In my view, decent posts are generally held in good regard. I've been mocked, praised and abused on here but all in good spirit. If you dish it ( which i sometimes do), you've got to be able to take it. When I correct other poster's grammar, it's not malicious ; just a bug bear of mine to see incorrect spelling. However, when I've posted something grammatically incorrect I get slaughtered. That's just par for the course.

The proof is there. The vast majority of regular posters haven't changed from the Not 606 lot and it's been 2 years. A lot of new members come and go. It doesn't help when a lot of the people who do that sort of thing end up also being moderators as part of the clique and therefore can't be put on ignore.

There's a lot of good spirit here but also a lot of nit-picking over every insignificant detail just as an ego-boosting exercise. It doesn't remotely bother me as I can just put people on ignore (providing they aren't mods) but it's just a shame as this forum has a lot of potential and has at least a handful of well-rounded Newcastle fans.

A handful of new members doesn't mean much. There could have (and should have) been hundreds of new members here by now. There's been no shortage of marketing efforts by the admins.

And I'm still here because there are some reasonable people to talk to and I can just block everyone else. If I could block certain mods too then it would be ideal but unfortunately the forum doesn't let me.
