If Ryan Taylor was fit..
Just watching Premier League years 2011/2012 and saw his fk vs the Mackems.
So hypothetically, if he was fit, would he get into our first 11. And where?
I'd suspect many people would say lb, since they don't rate Santon. But then you can't use his crossing.
I think Pards would like playing him on the right. We know from Sissoko he wants someone with defensive bearings out there and Raylor could do that (move Sissoko inside). I think it could work, Taylor's crossing and Debuchy's energy and runs overlapping.

He wouldn't be in the starting eleven.
Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
When everyone is fit, he'd be on the bench but would definitely get game time, at this moment in time I can imagine he'd be playing centre mid.

Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
He doesn't smile enough for me so doesn't deserve a starting XI place.
Coincidentally, an old cheffing colleague of mine was sacked because he didn't smile enough. If it was an open kitchen I could understand the reasoning a little bit but the kitchen was in a cellar and all the food went up in a dumbwaiter so no customer would ever know if he was a grumpy bastard or not.
He sued and won.

He wasn't even close to being good enough to start last time he was fit. Our team has improved while he has undoubtedly got worse since he's been injured. He would sometimes make the bench
Like a seahorse in the night, he rides with haste to his beloved's domain.
He is the silent guardian, the practical idealist, the man of peace prepared for war.
He is a Mackem.
Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
Wouldn't be in the squad, so cannot vote.
Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
He couldn't match Sissoko's creativity on the right. He's created 60 chances, fifth most in the league.

But but Sissoko is the s***tiest player in the world and shouldn't be a footballer.Yacob wrote:He couldn't match Sissoko's creativity on the right. He's created 60 chances, fifth most in the league.

It shocked me too, only Hazard, Silva, Ozil and Suarez have created more.Toondes wrote:Is that stat true?Yacob wrote:He couldn't match Sissoko's creativity on the right. He's created 60 chances, fifth most in the league.
Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
I love Ryan Taylor, but he wouldn't make the match day squad in my opinion. He's not as good as Haidara or Dummett, let alone Debuchy or Santon.
I had the first custom w***

Would be interesting to see what constitutes a chance created.
Seen the stat mentioned on a few forums but no link posted.

Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
Has he? That feels like a massive assumption. He's decent as a squad player and I'd certainly use him ahead of Dummett as the Santon swap even if just to have someone on the pitch who can take a corner. Nothing more than that mind, he's getting older.TheLittleGeordie wrote:He wasn't even close to being good enough to start last time he was fit. Start against the mackems obviously.

Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
He's been out nearly two years, thinking he will have got worse is only realistic and incredibly likely.Colly wrote:Has he? That feels like a massive assumption. Re: If Ryan Taylor was fit..
Realistically, I think Ryan Taylors' Newcastle united career is over. I don't think he will recover enough to become a first team player again and at best he would be an emergency sub. It's a shame for the lad, because I loved his efforts and his ability to actually cross a ball, plus his set piece efforts.
Hopefully he's working with the players showing them how to be effective at getting crosses in and being effective at set pieces.
