So annoying that MYM isn't getting in the side at the moment.
Is it wrong of me to hope that Saylor gets sent off for violent conduct in the 90th minute when we are 3-0 up so MYM will have to play the next few games. He's getting really screwed over by Pardew.

Couldn't really give a f*** how I look to be honest. Nor do I care about your opinion for who I do and don't bet for. You really aren't in a position to claim how loyal and passionate anyone else is about their club so pull your head out of your arse please.Micky Quim wrote:Just catching up on the posts on here - would just like to say that people betting on Sunderland to win obviously favour money over their team and are clearly not true aficionados of the club. Supporting a football team requires loyalty and even if you fear a bad result you have to believe that anything can happen and hope your faith will be rewarded. Betting against your team just makes you look stupid - money means nothing over loyalty.

I wish people would get it in to their skull that betting on who you expect to win is entirely different to who you want to win. Nobody would be kicking up a fuss if it was another club other than Sunderland. Betting is impartial as far as I'm concerned, loyalty doesn't exist in gambling and if it does your conning yourself and you shouldn't bet on footballMicky Quim wrote:Just catching up on the posts on here - would just like to say that people betting on Sunderland to win obviously favour money over their team and are clearly not true aficionados of the club. If you don't like the fact people do it, fine, derby or no derby it's - I just tried to use the supposed word 'irregardless', clearly I meant 'regardless' -. Keep your opinions to yourself and if we win money backing our opposition then more the power to us. It has nothing to do with a lack of loyalty which frankly makes people sound like those croutons over on RTG.
I'm not even going to back Sunderland, personally I think it'll be a draw or we'll maybe nick it, but people have absolutely no right to judge people based on something thats frankly a whole different ball game. At the end of the day betting is simply odds, figures and statistics, and you take a punt on them to hopefully make a profit. They may as well be called 'Team A' and 'Team B' when I'm looking at the betting slips, because my likes or dislikes of teams have no impact on what i'll go for.
Re: Match Preview - Sunderland (h), 01/02/14
I'm loyal to my wallet, if betting on Sunderland helps people ease the pain of them beating us then I see nothing wrong with it really. I pick who I expect to win on my accumulator, not who I want to win - for instance I won £40 quid on the first weekend of the season and I had City on my accy. It's not as if people are suddenly swearing allegiance to another club - if my accy fails because Newcastle pull an unexpected result out the bag I'm not arsed in the slightest.

Re: Match Preview - Sunderland (h), 01/02/14
You do realise that betting on your team to lose doesn't affect the result in any way.

If your opinion was the same as ours, then it would be a valid opinion.

I don't bet on or against Newcastle, but I'm sticking a tenner on Sunderland winning the League Cup.
