I don't want us to lose, I'm merely announcing the inevitable if such an occasion occurs, and rightly so too.Le Quiff wrote:Why are you excited for thatSparrowMane wrote:The uproar is going to tremendous if we don't beat the Mackems tomorrow without replacing Cabaye
Seems you want us to lose just to have an excuse to moan.
Some people are so negative its unreal.
It's beyond laughable frankly how things have been handled. If the club came out and said that after the Grenier deal collapsed they were now waiting for the summer to pursue investment then I think the majority of us wouldn't mind, but the silence on matters isn't helping. It's simply making them appear inept and showing that they seemingly don't give a toss.

Why say they're going to pursue someone in the summer incase he has a blinder and another club signs? Total PR failure. Just because you don't know the ins and outs of everything does not mean they're inept.

Kinnear's column should be interesting tomorrow. I watched Pards press conference from yesterday on NUFCTV & he looked so deflated. He must be so frustrated too.

I didn't say 'someone', which alludes to it being a specific person, I said investment.
That would in no way be a PR disaster for the club

Re: Minor/Untrusted January Transfer Rumours (NUFC)
Fulham are likely paying over the odds when it comes to his wages given the risk of relegation they're facing this season. I don't see our club wanting to pay wages for a player we're not going to keep, at a time when we're not faced with any big risk.Bodacious Benny wrote:Spurs can easily dictate that he stayed close.Le Quiff wrote: IF he's THAT good, why would Fulam be his only option?

Because when they go in for players in the summer other clubs will know they plan on spending and will rinse then for everything. In football, saying nothing is probably the best thing, cannot be misconstrued or faults picked up on.SparrowMane wrote:Le Quiff wrote: Obviously they're not inept

Obviously Kinnear saying no one will be sold was silly but we didn't anticipate that bid from PSG.

Of course he is, I hate people who blame Pardew for some of our transfer business. He obviously wanted to keep Cabaye and he would want more players coming in as well.nufc1991 wrote:Kinnear's column should be interesting tomorrow. Kinnear, Pardew - both will paper over the cracks and make some believable excuses tomorrow. Nobody ever knows what goes on regardless of the team.
Frustrating, yes.
Predictable, yes.

I wouldn't agree with that at all. It's not like we've been bankrolled by a frivolous billionaire or received an extortionate amount of money for Cabaye is it? £20,000,000 is nothing much at all in this climate. All the club have succeeded in doing is making themselves look like stepping stones and revealed a piss poor amount of ambition.

The only way you'll ever attract top young talent is if you demonstrate that if they play well, perform, and eventually are wanted by one of the top clubs in the world, you won't kick up a huge fuss block the move.SparrowMane wrote:Le Quiff wrote: Because when they go in for players in the summer other clubs will know they plan on spending and will rinse then for everything. You may say that shows no ambition, but there's no chance right now for us to legitimately compete for the top 4, and there's no denying that PSG has become one of the most desirable and powerful clubs in the world. Selling Cabaye for a relatively high price to probably his most ideal destination shows respect to the player, and proves we'll show respect to future potential stars who do their part when playing for us.
