At this stage I'd welcome that!Juliet Papa Golf wrote:I can see us making a £10m+ bid for a striker later tonight, a Bryan Ruiz/N'Zogbia'esque attempt.

Gamble yes, but I'd hardly say we looked awful in the Fulham match. We looked much better at the end, but we basically dominated from start to finish.Hoofball wrote:They're playing a very very dangerous game here. We're a team that finished 16th, and have looked awful this season (except for the last 20 minutes agaisnt Fulham). Not improving the squad is a massive massive gamble and could easily backfire.

Dominated due to Fulham letting us mind. After 6-10 games will be fair to judge where we are heading.Je suis avec Colo wrote:Gamble yes, but I'd hardly say we looked awful in the Fulham match. the only accurate rumour of the summer was when reports surfaced suggesting that Colin was a 42 year old plumer/pervert with no connection to NUFC and no sources

Sportsmail understands that Chelsea are said to be in talks with a striker, which could see them release Demba Ba to West Ham… but it will be a late one.
Ba of course starred at the Hammers during a short spell in 2011

Okay #NUFC fans. I hear the club are looking for a winger.

Again, that Sam Rhodes thing seems to be rubbish. A quick Google search comes up with precisely zero people called Sam Rhodes working for the Telegraph or the FT.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread
Jesus my twitter feed is beyond depressing, loads of people complaining, not as if we didn't try this summer. No point in settling for less if you just wait 6 months and get better talent, look at Mariappa, people wanted us to get him so we had cover, would we have got MYM if we paid over the odds for Mariappa?
It's not about money... It's about sending a message.
Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread
Ozils assists stats are phenomenal, most assists for club and country since 1 August 2010 with 91.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread
Is it too early to start the 'Where do we go from here thread' or do we have to wait the window to officially slam shut on all lingering vague subconscious hope that we will sign anyone?
Even Carlton Cole is starting to attractive at this point <cringe>
