Exactly. I think MON might be the problem to be honest. He seems to frightened to go for anyone who isn't English or hasn't played for him at a previous club. Obviously I think our system is fantastic. We have recognised that "proven" British players just aren't worth the transfer fees and wages. We've chucked enough money at that sort of s*** in the past! When Joe Cole signed for Liverpool I was thinking that is exactly the sort of player Fat Freddy would've signed . But MON just seems scared to take the chance on say a relatively unknown player from the Eredivisie, and would rather opt for someone who has been an average PL player for most of their career. It's madness. As good a manager as he is, he's holding Sunderland back in that respect.

He's scores more than you think, still think if he goes to Sunderland it will be for a very inflated price.

To be fair he's been playing for Wolves so he hasn't exactly been getting amazing service.
