Why can't we just pay a reasonable f***ing fee for him

He is the silent guardian, the practical idealist, the man of peace prepared for war.
He is a Mackem.

Debuchy: Seydoux shuts the Door
Though the player desired this summer to leave Lille, Mathieu Debuchy could stay for one more year. The offer of Newcastle (6 million) has not met the president Seydoux's asking price, who reacted strongly.
Mathieu Debuchy wanted to join Newcastle and his friend Yohan Cabaye.
Michel Seydoux was quick to react to the proposal of 6 million euros, together with a percentage for resale, made by Newcastle for Mathieu Debuchy, information published in the columns of L'Equipe on Thursday. "I decided that Mathieu Debuchy remain LOSC," announced the President of Lille. "The offer from Newcastle is definitely not at the value of the player. As we have significant challenges in August (including the qualifier of the Champions League), stop procrastinating. (my favourite part
In early July, the Magpies had offered 5 million euros for the right side Lille player (27 years, under contract until 2015), who had announced before resuming training, his intention to leave his club.

Well Anita can play LB, RB and DM/CM, so I guess he might play. Sounds like a higher-class Perch to me...

It will all be OK on page 89 when he signs.
Re: The Mathieu Debuchy Thread
We f***ed about with the deal after Lille made it clear they weren't going to piss about, we got what we deserved.
Re: The Mathieu Debuchy Thread
I reckon we need to meet their valuation in the next two days or they'll say no whatever.

Thank God this saga seems to be over... lets move on to other targets please, we need the players!
Re: The Mathieu Debuchy Thread
So, I guess Good was the signing Pardew expected this week then.
Re: The Mathieu Debuchy Thread
Why change our transfer policy which clearly worked last season for one player? Especially one that will have a much lower value once he leaves?

Not going to happen. He has made his decision to keep him, I don't think he'll change his mind now.Speedo wrote:I reckon we need to meet their valuation in the next two days or they'll say no whatever.

Re: The Mathieu Debuchy Thread
The extra few million would have kept Cabaye happier too
. Shame we didn't do it.

I reckon he's playing hardball, he doesn't want us to take his best players two years running.Lewis Hamilton The F1 Legend wrote:Not going to happen. The problem is, our transfer policy can only take us so far. Eventually we have to just suck it up and pay an extra million pounds to secure a player.Ramone wrote:Why change our transfer policy which clearly worked last season for one player?
