I think we got him for a fair price. There are an awful lot of young players out there who get built up but don't live up to potential. In fact, Santon probably falls into that bracket to some degree anyway. He was being touted as one of the future stars of football and a world class player. I don't think he will ever reach those levels, but he's still a bloody good full back and good enough for us, so it's a fair rate.

Plus, with his progression stagnating and his injury worries, there was always a risk that he wouldnt find his best form again.

I think he has POTENTIAL to be world-class but he's definitely nowhere near that but give it 3-4 years and he'll be one of the best full-backs around IMO.

One of the best full-backs in the French League this season and has been in excellent form in these Euro Championships. Good attacking full-back with great tackling, pace, agility and his crossing looks very good. He'll be a considerably improvement over Simpson that's for sure. Him and Benny on the right would be quality

Sadly I agree, the max we will go is £6M which is near enough €7.5M. Lets hope we move quickly as from what I've read, he wants to come here.
