Re: Hypothetical - Next Newcastle Manager
It seems Eddie's view of rotation is simply to drop different players into the 433 structure . Doesn't work.
He admitted this is the case in his post match presser. He said that he will only play the players that fit "HIS" system, he said that he can only play one striker and at the moment ...

Re: Weekend football - 18/20 April 2026
Thought Arsenal were better today after a few dodgy performances- it was a close run thing .
City xan catch them if they win game in hand
With Saka back in a week , Oddegard , Havertz back - I still make Arsenal favorites given their much easier run in.
City's next 2 away - Arsenal both at home ...

Re: Hypothetical - Next Newcastle Manager
Two things have poisoned my view of Howe
1. Tactical inflexibility and the constant desire to plsy 433 even when it's not working .
For the latter half of this season we've had the conundrum of how to get the best out of Wolt .
Clearly 433 cannot do it as we cannot make him one of the midfield ...

Its brain against brawn
Posession agaisnt hopeful punts upfield.
Howe will stick with 433 until the day hes sacked
I think we need changev

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cherries
Watched 30 mins
Pretty clear that Bmouth are better than us
Tactically, energy wise , possession.
I can understand the energy benefit as they've played fewer games.
But not why theyre better in other ways.
Id say watching it that they attack and defend as a team / unit. We do it in bits ...

Re: Champions League 2025 /26
Id personally like to see Saka back & firing for WC
Seeing him see off AM would be a good start
Id also like Arsenal to hang on & break Peps dominance in PL
My thoughts on this post:

Re: Champions League 2025 /26
Whilst they've obviously got the easiest draw they could, again, I'd love for Arsenal to get handily turned over by Athleti. Which isnt that unlikely a possibility, though can't see past Bayern as ultimate winners.

Re: Big summer blow out!
I think people need to stop thinking Anderson will come back, no chance. Doesn’t matter he’s a fan, he’s not turning down the likes of city to play for us. It’s not the 90s now, cash is king. And why would he turn down guaranteed major honours at city for the odd cup run here.
You might be ...

Re: Big summer blow out!
All of this really depends on who wants to go & value in many cases
If Bruno wants to stay- keep him
Ditto Tino
If he wants to go its going to be £100m+
Ditto Gordon
Ditto Tonali
Tino doesn't leave for less than £80m
If we get a £50m offer for Wolt - cut our losses
So we could see £300m ...

Re: Hypothetical - Next Newcastle Manager
Ilke Frank- think he would have turned Spurs around had they kept him - but that failure means he needs to prove himself again at a smaller club imo
I like Tuchel - but I think he'll either stay with England or be looking for a bigger fish
I like Glasner , Iraola , Poch
Glasner:- pretty good ...

Re: Matchday thread - Magpies v Eagles
Im not dute its lack in intensity
Its lack of ability . Ability to keep possession, ability to hold the ball, ability to see games out .
Intensity was something we showed in first half of the season. But can you maintain intensity after you've played almost 50 games like Thiaw. No you can't ...

Re: Matchday thread - Magpies v Eagles
At the end of the day. There's more to life than football.
I'm going to enjoy the rest of my Sunday by walking my dog, then after that pouring myself a large glass of red and then have a bubble bath. After that I'm going to watch a film and eat chocolate.
Oh and if anyone is thinking about ...

Sick of our lack of intensity.
Unbelievably the inevitable happens yet again
It’s truly mind bending our ability to toss games away.

Re: Matchday thread - Magpies v Eagles
Good finish to the half -
We need to have our shooting boots on more when 20-25 yards out - lots of shot opps not taken.
That free kick at the end was screaming to be laid back to the edge of the box for a shot . Tino with nobody within 10 yards of him .

Re: Matchday thread - Magpies v Eagles
Of all the lower/midtable managers potentially on the move this summer, Iriola probably is the best (after Howe). However there's going to be plenty of clubs with bigger pulling power in need of a new manager. Arsenal, city, Liverpool, man u could all be up for grabs. As well as potentially both ...

Re: Weekend football - 10/13 April 2026
Don't know what's going to be funnier. Arsenal bottling the title or Spurs getting relegated. <laugh>
Think both are going to happen!
I really hope Spurs get relegated and Arsenal bottle the title on the last day of the season.
I'd rather see Forest relegated and give us a shot at re ...

Re: Howe under pressure?
Has to go, I cannot see any argument for him to stay. The football this season is abysmal I honestly don't think there has been a run of games where we have been good and it's looked like we were going to kick on. I can't recall a game where we have been the dominant team and won comfortably, it ...

Re: Howe under pressure?
I definitely think now we're out of Europe and all cups, unless we somehow go on a run and finish at least 5 or maybe 6th then his time will be up come end of season.
Were not going to finish 5th or 6th
We've only 7 games left to play
After today we finish behild Lpool and Chelsea
I think ...
