Re: Your thoughts on the Pardew-Meyler incident?
Ive said it before on here but I dont get why Footballers (and now Football Managers) natural reaction to aggression is to try and headbutt someone. Its like the most unnatural thing I could think of doing in that situation. I could understand pushing and shoving, even punching really but what is ...

Re: MOTD thread: Pardew-nut edition
Sissoko had a very good game. Wish he'd play like that more often.

Re: Your thoughts on the Pardew-Meyler incident?
It is extremely different to a player doing it to another player. It's a fairly regular occurrence on a football pitch. How many managers have you seen headbutt (and yes, regardless of impact it was a headbutt) a player? As fans, we rightly complain about the absolute circus that so often surrounds ...

Re: Hull City 1 - 4 Newcastle Utd - 01/03/14
Really good performance by the team. We defended decently, but not amazingly. Tiote and Anita were class and ran the game. The wingers had very good games. Putting in good shifts and making things happen. And the boys up front did well. Makes a big difference when you have two forwards able to ...

Re: Your thoughts on the Pardew-Meyler incident?
Pardew should be sacked. Already thought so and this is another reason piled on top.
He's the manager of a football and should held to much higher standards than the players in my opinion. How many managers have you ever seen headbutt a player? It's a disgrace.

Re: Louis van gaal?
Their alternative plan was apparently Frank DeBoer but he , it is rumoured, turned them down, because he didn't want to leave Ajax mid season. He is another option for them in the summer though.

Re: How much stick does Pardew deserve?
Loads.
He's showed a remarkable amount of tactical ineptitude and an inability to get his players motivated for matches. For the most part anyway. These are two of his main jobs. He doesn't get the best out of the players at his disposal.

Re: City vs Barcelona - Very interesting tie
Lads I didn't see the second half. What are people's views on the penalty and sending off? Inside or outside the box?
Inside in real time. Outside in slow motion. Can't blame the ref as he can only make the decision based on real time where it appeared to be in the box. A red card either way ...

Re: Best domestic team in the world at the moment?
I think the Bundesliga has the best strength in depth at the moment. the majority of the teams seem to be technical and physical from what I can gather but I don't watch it a lot.
The lower levels of the PL have awful teams.

Re: Success by any means
There's also the issue that we are not in a major metropolitan area. Newcastle as a city would not attract a very wealthy owner, or the top players. And I'd hate to see us paying massive wages to a level of player who simply doesn't deserve it, as city initially did under Hughes with the likes of ...

Re: Success by any means
The thing is, lots of those massive clubs actually break even. They need that injection from the 'sugar daddy' (a hateful phrase) to get them up to the very top, and then the higher commercial and Champions League revenue etc. sustains them at a higher level of operational cost and revenue. I don't ...

Re: Best domestic team in the world at the moment?
Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina, Inter, Milan - there are a few fairly strong teams in there, makes for a more competitive league in general (like the Premier League) when you compare it to Germany/Spain where there are 2/3 teams.
But I mean the 'other' teams in Italy now are so weak, more so than ...
