I think the Bundesliga has the best strength in depth at the moment. the majority of the teams seem to be technical and physical from what I can gather but I don't watch it a lot.

The lower levels of the PL have awful teams.

There's also the issue that we are not in a major metropolitan area. Newcastle as a city would not attract a very wealthy owner, or the top players. The thing is, lots of those massive clubs actually break even. They need that injection from the 'sugar daddy' (a hateful phrase) to get them up to the very top, and then the higher commercial and Champions League revenue etc. sustains them at a higher level of operational cost and revenue.
